Mascot and Mascot Handler Scholarship Application

Join the Spirit Team at Northampton Community College! We're looking for enthusiastic and energetic students to bring NCC’s spirit to life as our college mascot and mascot handler! This dynamic duo will represent the college at events on and off campus—spreading school pride, engaging with the community, and making unforgettable memories.

This is also a scholarship opportunity—both the mascot and handler roles come with a scholarship.

The mascot performer will embody the character at events while the handler will assist behind the scenes and ensure everything runs smoothly.

Scholarship Requirements:

• Maintain a 2.5 GPA or higher.

• Scholarship covers 50% of applicable tuition

Mascot Job Requirements:

• Specific height (5'5" to 5'9") and weight requirements due to mascot size.
• Ability to be on your feet, walking or standing for extended periods of time.
• Must have a driver’s license and reliable transportation to travel independently to off-campus events.

Job Description:

• Minimum of 20 appearances required throughout the academic year, both on-campus and off-campus.

• Examples of events: Quad Fest, Spartan Fest, Rock the Block, Sporting Events, Family Day, Commencement (Winter and Spring), Student Life Awards, End of Year Party, Awards Convocation, Staff Appreciation, Resident Student Move-In

• You will be responsible for:

  • Engaging with crowds to create a lively and exciting atmosphere.

  • Posing for photos with students, staff, and guests.

  • Spreading team spirit and enthusiasm.

  • Maintaining the mascot costume and upholding the character persona.

• Transportation to off-campus events must be arranged independently.
